Surf's Up Restaurant in Mount Prospect - Assistant Manager
Surf's Up Seafood Restaurant, Mount Prospect's premier seafood dining destination, is on the hunt for a dedicated and seasoned Assistant Manager to join our dynamic team. We're a fast-paced restaurant providing a friendly, beach-inspired environment that brings the ocean to our landlocked location.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills, a passion for customer service, and a deep appreciation for fresh seafood. We pride ourselves on delivering an exceptional dining experience and we expect our Assistant Manager to embody this commitment.
Responsibilities:
Assist the General Manager in all aspects of restaurant operations including customer service, staff management, inventory control, and compliance with safety and sanitary standards.
Coordinating daily restaurant management operations, delivering superior food and beverage service, and maximizing customer satisfaction.
Work with the General Manager to develop marketing initiatives and promotions to drive business.
Handling and resolving customer complaints effectively to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
Manage shifts, including scheduling staff, managing reservations, and ensuring high levels of service during peak times.
Assist in the hiring, training, and development of new staff members.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality, or related field preferred.
Proven work experience as an Assistant Manager, Shift Manager, or similar role in a restaurant setting.
Solid understanding of restaurant operations including food preparation, customer service, and inventory management.
Strong problem-solving, leadership, and customer service skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Knowledge of seafood and a passion for the ocean will be a plus!
