The City of Des Plaines kicked off summer in delicious fashion today with the first 2026 Food Truck Round Up at Rosemary S. Argus Friendship Park and Conservatory. Families, friends, and neighbors gathered from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. to enjoy a perfect evening filled with food trucks, live music, artisan vendors, and community fun.

The annual Food Truck Round Up has quickly become one of Des Plaines’ favorite summer traditions, bringing together local residents to enjoy incredible food and entertainment outdoors. This year’s first event featured live music by Whiskey Mil, bubble activities for kids, handmade goods from local artisans, and a wide variety of food truck favorites.

Guests had plenty of amazing food options to choose from, with a lineup that showcased flavors from around the world. Featured food trucks included:

From smash burgers and grilled cheese sandwiches to Hawaiian favorites, Filipino specialties, churros, frozen treats, and panzerotti, there was truly something for everyone. The atmosphere was lively and family-friendly, with picnic blankets and lawn chairs spread throughout the park while guests enjoyed the beautiful spring weather.

One of the highlights of the evening was seeing the Des Plaines community come together to support local businesses and enjoy a relaxing night outdoors. Events like the Food Truck Round Up continue to showcase why Des Plaines is such a vibrant and welcoming community.

If you missed today’s event, don’t worry — the City of Des Plaines will host two more Food Truck Round Up events this summer on July 21 at Metropolitan Square and August 18 at Library Plaza.
